This bill establishes a voucher program administered by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to help residents in municipalities with high levels of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) obtain water filtration equipment. Under the program, residents in affected municipalities can request vouchers for point-of-use water filtration devices and replacement filters that meet specific certification standards, such as being certified by NSF International or the Water Quality Association. Each address can receive up to two filtration device vouchers in a five-year period and up to two replacement filter vouchers in a six-month period.
