This bill establishes a new type of distinctive license plate specifically for Army combat veterans who have been awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), Combat Infantryman Badge (Second Award), or Combat Action Badge. The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles will provide these special license plates free of charge to veterans who meet the criteria, and the plates will feature the words "COMBAT VETERAN" along with an emblem identifying the veteran's branch of military service.
