This bill aims to enhance transparency and accountability in procurement by requiring the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) to collect and report annual procurement data related to diverse businesses. Specifically, the bill mandates that businesses, nonprofit corporations, and state authorities with annual revenues of $100 million or more must provide detailed information about their procurement activities with both certified business enterprises (Minority Business Enterprises or MBEs, and Women Business Enterprises or WBEs) and non-certified businesses (including Black-owned, Hispanic-owned, and women-owned businesses). The SDO will be responsible for creating regulations to collect this data and will submit an annual report by April 30th to the governor, lieutenant governor, and the general court, which will also be publicly available on the SDO's website.
