The report will evaluate the implementation and outcomes of multi-family zoning requirements, focusing on four key areas: the number and types of housing units produced, the impact on local infrastructure (such as water, sewer, and transportation systems), the effects on public schools (including enrollment changes and funding needs), and recommendations for legislative or regulatory improvements to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of multi-family zoning requirements. The report must be filed with the clerks of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and Senate, as well as the joint committees on Housing and Transportation, providing a regular assessment of how multi-family zoning is influencing housing development and community infrastructure in MBTA-served areas.
