This bill modifies the Texas Education Code by requiring that agreements for minor boundary adjustments between two contiguous (neighboring) school districts include additional details starting January 1, 2025. Specifically, when school districts enter into agreements to transfer territory from one district to another, they must now document any ongoing terms, restrictions, covenants, or contracts that will continue to apply to the transferred real property. The agreement must also provide a brief explanation of each school district's privileges, rights, and responsibilities related to those terms. For agreements executed between January 1, 2025, and the bill's effective date, the new terms will become effective either on January 1, 2025, or on a date mutually agreed upon by the participating school districts. The bill will take effect on September 1, 2025, providing school districts time to prepare for and implement these new agreement requirements.
