Additionally, the training will include communication skills, de-escalation tactics, physical control techniques, cultural competence, mandatory reporting protocols, crisis intervention, and mental health services. The Department of Attorney General will also provide annual training focusing on legal updates, clarifying the legal authority and limitations of school resource officers and security personnel. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance school safety by ensuring that all school safety personnel are well-trained in a wide range of critical skills and protocols to prevent and respond to potential threats and emergencies.
