This bill establishes a specific recall procedure for elected town officials in Monterey, Massachusetts, allowing registered voters to remove an elected official from office through a multi-step process. Under this procedure, at least 30 registered voters can initiate a recall by filing an affidavit with the Town Clerk stating the grounds for recall, after which the Board of Registrars must verify the signatures. If the initial affidavit is validated, the Town Clerk will provide petition sheets that must be signed by at least 15% of the town's registered voters within 21 calendar days.
