This bill modifies the Texas Election Code to enhance election notice requirements for certain political subdivisions. Specifically, the bill requires that in addition to existing notice methods, any election ordered by an authority must be posted on that authority's internet website no later than 62 days before election day. The bill also expands notice requirements for special elections and nonpartisan elections, mandating that such election notices must state each office to be filled or each proposition to be voted on. Furthermore, the bill changes the timeline for political subdivisions (except counties) to deliver election notices to the county clerk and voter registrar, extending the deadline from 60 to 75 days before election day. The county clerk is still required to post these election notices on the county's website if one exists. These changes will apply only to elections ordered on or after the bill's effective date of September 1, 2025, and are designed to improve transparency and ensure voters have more comprehensive and timely information about upcoming elections.
