This bill, known as the "Block Organ Transplant Purchases from China Act of 2025," aims to prohibit and penalize organ transplants with connections to China. Starting January 1, 2026, the bill would prohibit Medicare, Medicaid, and private health insurance plans from covering organ transplants that either occur in China or involve organs not procured through the official U.S. Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network.
