Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, specific community college courses (like General Chemistry, College Physics, and various English and World History courses) will be deemed equivalent to corresponding high school graduation requirements. Additionally, the bill removes the mandatory Math III graduation requirement, instead requiring students to complete mathematics courses that align with their individual career development plan. The boards are required to submit a report by January 15, 2028, detailing which community college courses match high school requirements and outlining a continued alignment strategy. While Math III will still be available, students will no longer be required to take it unless it specifically supports their career goals, providing more flexibility in mathematics education.
