This bill expands existing law regarding the revocation of operating privileges for off-road recreational vehicles and motorboats. Currently, such privileges could be revoked for alcohol or substance-related violations, but the bill now adds two additional grounds for revocation: (1) manslaughter resulting from operating a motor vehicle, and (2) criminal vehicular homicide or injury as defined in specific criminal statutes. When a person is convicted of any of these violations, the state's commissioner must notify them that their privileges to operate off-road recreational vehicles and motorboats will be suspended for the same duration as their driver's license revocation. The bill is set to take effect on August 1, 2025, and will apply to violations committed on or after that date.
