This resolution pays tribute to Eugene Bothe, a car dealership owner from Brenham, Texas, who passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on April 28, 1932, in Meyersville to August and Margarethe Bothe, Eugene was one of seven siblings and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville. He married Elois Kochwelp in 1955, and they shared nearly 46 years of marriage until her death in 2001. Eugene had a successful career in the automotive industry, first working at Rankin Motors, then becoming a partner in 1970 and eventually owning Bothe Ford before joining Tegeler Toyota. He was also involved in dirt construction and cattle businesses, and was known for enjoying dancing at parties and events. The resolution acknowledges his five children (Jerry, Roxanna, Michael, Ronald, and Pamela), eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and extends sympathy to his family and friends. The Texas House of Representatives unanimously adopted this resolution on March 31, 2025, to honor Eugene Bothe's life and memory, and ordered an official copy of the resolution to be prepared for his family.
