This bill appropriates additional funds to the Department of Correction for fiscal years 2025 and 2026, and authorizes additional full-time equivalent positions. * For fiscal year 2025 (July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025), the Department of Correction receives a total of $14,890,500. This includes $1,970,000 for Prisons Administration (funded by the General Fund and Federal Grant Fund), $5,939,400 for County & Out-of-State Placement (funded by the General Fund), and $5,957,200 for Medical Services (funded by the General Fund). * For fiscal year 2026 (July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026), the Department of Correction receives a total of $23,763,500. Major appropriations include $3,289,300 for Management Services (funded by the General Fund and Inmate Labor Fund), $10,751,400 for State Prisons (funded by the General Fund, Penitentiary Endowment Income Fund, and Miscellaneous Revenue Fund), $4,527,900 for County & Out-of-State Placement (funded by the General Fund), $2,467,000 for Community Corrections (funded by the General Fund and Inmate Labor Fund), and $2,727,900 for Medical Services (funded by the General Fund). * The bill also authorizes an increase of twelve (12.00) full-time equivalent positions for the Department of Correction for fiscal year 2026. * Section 3 of the bill, relating to the fiscal year 2025 appropriations, is declared an emergency and is effective upon passage and approval. Sections 1 and 2, relating to fiscal year 2026 appropriations and FTE authorization, are effective on July 1, 2025.
