This bill amends the Agricultural Act of 2014 to provide additional support for livestock producers impacted by Mexican gray wolf attacks. Specifically, the bill increases livestock indemnity payments to 100 percent of the market value when livestock are killed by Mexican gray wolves, up from previous partial reimbursement rates. The bill also establishes a new emergency relief program where the Secretary of Agriculture must develop a formula for providing financial assistance to affected livestock producers each fiscal year. The formula will consider factors such as herd size, confirmed wolf depredations, increased management costs, decreased birth rates, and existing wolf prevention practices.
