This bill appropriates funds from the State General Fund to three different entities for eviction diversion programs: $15 million to Clark County, $5.25 million to the City of Reno, and $750,000 to the Nevada Rural Housing Authority. Each entity can use the funds to award grants for eviction diversion programs or cover administrative costs, with a strict limit that no more than 10% of their allocated funds can be used for administrative expenses. For the City of Reno, there are additional requirements that any eviction diversion programs must not exclude or create more restrictive eligibility requirements for residents of unincorporated Washoe County or the City of Sparks. All three entities are required to submit two detailed reports to the Interim Finance Committee describing their expenditures, with the first report due by December 18, 2026, and a final report due by September 17, 2027. They must also make their financial records available to the Legislative Auditor if requested. Any unspent funds must be returned to the State General Fund by September 17, 2027, and cannot be committed for expenditure after June 30, 2027. The bill becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval.
