This resolution recognizes March 19, 2025, as Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Day, highlighting the significant contributions of the Texas SBDC Network to the state's economic prosperity. The resolution provides context about the network's origins as part of America's SBDC, a national program established by the Small Business Development Center Act of 1979, which now includes approximately 1,000 service centers and over 5,000 professional business advisors. The Texas SBDC, comprising four lead offices and over 40 field and specialty centers, has provided free business consulting and affordable training for more than four decades. In 2024, the organization helped businesses access over $421 million in financing, is estimated to have saved or created more than 33,000 jobs, and supported companies that generated approximately $703 million in new sales and over $81 million in tax revenue.
