This bill authorizes the Magistrate Court of Crawford County to charge a technology fee of up to $5.00 for each civil action filed and up to $5.00 as a surcharge on each court fine. The collected funds must be used exclusively to support the court's technological needs, which include purchasing computer hardware and software, leasing and maintaining technology equipment, acquiring imaging and communication devices, and converting court records to digital formats for public access. The collected fees must be kept in a separate account and can only be used for these specified technological purposes. The authority to assess this technology fee will expire on July 1, 2035, after which any remaining funds will be dedicated to general technology uses in Crawford County. The bill also includes a standard provision repealing any laws that conflict with its provisions.
