This resolution congratulates five students from Chaminade High School who won the top prize in the 13th Annual Medical Marvels STEM research competition hosted by The Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. The competition challenged over 180 high school freshmen and sophomores to develop solutions addressing the negative mental health impacts of social media on adolescents. The winning team, consisting of Christopher Covelli, Andrew Dargento, Luke Krinsky, Ty Miranda, and Mateo Solis, proposed a comprehensive approach including a innovative app called "MediaMindful" with a "buddy bot" feature that can identify over 400 keywords and provide supportive responses. The students were evaluated by a panel of scientists and healthcare professionals using a five-point scoring rubric that assessed innovation, clarity, and methodological approach. The resolution highlights the students' scientific rigor, teamwork, and commitment to addressing mental health challenges among youth, and officially recognizes their achievement by resolving to congratulate them and transmit an official copy of the resolution to each team member.
