This bill requires the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) and Metro-North Commuter Railroad to expand their existing medical emergency services programs by mandating the provision and maintenance of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on every train and at every station. Currently, these railroad companies already have medical emergency service programs that include training employees in first aid and emergency procedures.
