This resolution honors Diana Lerma, a volleyball coach from Mission, Texas, for her induction into the Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame. The resolution highlights Lerma's significant athletic and coaching achievements, including her successful volleyball career as a player at Mission High School, Laredo Junior College, and Southwest Texas State University, where she was named to the Southland All-Conference Team. As the head volleyball coach at Veterans Memorial High School since 2002, Lerma has built a winning program, accumulating over 800 career wins, leading her team to nearly 50 district, bi-district, and area championships, and securing four Sweet 16 appearances. The Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame, established in 1988, recognizes individuals who have made positive contributions to sports in the community. The Texas House of Representatives officially congratulates Lerma on her induction, extends best wishes for her continued success, and will prepare an official copy of the resolution as an expression of high regard.
