Born in Des Plaines in 1925 and a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bernice married Al Timmermann in 1944 and became a crucial part of Rosemont's early development. She played a vital role in the village's fire protection infrastructure, serving as a Restrictive Radiotelephone Operator who maintained communication systems for firefighters, blew the daily fire siren, and served as president of the North Leyden Fire Women's Auxiliary. The Timmermanns were instrumental in the community, with Al serving as assistant fire chief, and they helped support the village's first fire truck through fundraising efforts. Bernice later became president of the Rosemont Senior Club and has a large family, including four children, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. The resolution recognizes her as an exemplary member of the community and wishes her continued happiness, ultimately directing that a copy of the resolution be presented to her in recognition of her hundred years of life in Illinois.
