This resolution commends Sis. Terri Ali for her significant contributions to agricultural education and sustainable farming at Mohammed Schools of Atlanta. Since 2012, Ali has been a certified natural grower who transformed the school's agricultural program from a few garden beds into a USDA-recognized 10,000-square-foot operation with 25 garden beds, two wind tunnels, and two orchards. Her work extends beyond traditional farming, as students under her guidance participate in ecological practices like beekeeping, composting, and producing value-added goods, while also engaging in community outreach such as sharing resources with local homesteaders and sending seeds to a village in The Gambia. As a member of the Health and Wellness Committee, Ali has helped implement school-wide healthy dietary practices to combat intergenerational health concerns, and her efforts have culminated in a Farm to Cafeteria program that serves fresh, on-site produced food to students, teachers, and their families. The resolution honors her visionary leadership in agricultural education, sustainability, wellness, and community engagement, and directs the House Clerk to provide her with an official copy of the resolution.
