This bill aims to completely abolish the West Feliciana Parish Port Commission by repealing Chapter 44 of Title 34 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes, specifically R.S. 34:3281 through 3286. Upon the bill's effective date, the governing authority of West Feliciana Parish will assume all responsibilities and assets of the port commission, including transferring all unfinished business, documents, financial resources, movable and immovable property, and books and records. Any ongoing legal proceedings involving the port commission will be continued under the parish governing authority's name, and all existing obligations of the port commission will become the parish governing authority's obligations. Essentially, this bill dissolves the Port Commission and transfers its entire operational and legal framework to the parish's main governing body.
