This bill establishes a new type of special license plate specifically for snowmobile enthusiasts in Minnesota. The bill allows registered owners of passenger automobiles, non-commercial trucks, motorcycles, or recreational vehicles to obtain snowmobile-themed license plates by paying special plate fees and meeting certain requirements. Applicants must also make a financial contribution to the snowmobile trails and enforcement account, with an initial contribution amount and subsequent annual minimums. The commissioner of motor vehicles will design the plates in consultation with the Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association.
