This resolution congratulates the winners of the 13th Annual ProStart® High School Competition in Rhode Island, a two-year hospitality career-building program run by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The competition, hosted by the Rhode Island Hospitality Education Foundation, involved six local teams competing in three areas: Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management, and Hospitality Tourism Management, with over fifty industry professionals serving as judges. The winning teams were from William M. Davies, Jr. Career and Technical High School (First Place in Culinary and Foodservice Management) and Chariho Area Career & Technical Center (First Place in Hospitality and Tourism Management). The resolution specifically recognizes the students by name, highlights that the Culinary and Foodservice Management teams will advance to the National ProStart® Invitational in Baltimore in May, and officially extends congratulations to the winning teams. Additionally, the resolution directs the Secretary of State to send certified copies of the resolution to William M. Davies, Jr. Career and Technical High School and CHARIHOTech.
