This resolution commends Chief Justice Michael P. Boggs for his distinguished career in public service in Georgia, highlighting his significant professional achievements and contributions. Born in Waycross, Boggs earned degrees from Georgia Southern College and Mercer University School of Law, began his legal career as a civil trial attorney, and was elected to the Georgia General Assembly in 2000, where he served on multiple committees and was named Outstanding Freshman Member. He transitioned to the judicial system, first serving as a superior court judge and founding a felony drug court program, then being appointed to the Court of Appeals in 2012 and the Supreme Court of Georgia in 2016.
