This resolution congratulates Catherine Rinaldi on her retirement after a distinguished career with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and Metro-North Railroad. Rinaldi, a Yale University graduate and University of Virginia law school alumna, joined the MTA in 2003 and became the first woman to serve as President of Metro-North Railroad in February 2018. During her tenure, she achieved notable accomplishments, including overseeing the railroad's best on-time performance in history, implementing a federally mandated Positive Train Control (PTC) system, and improving employee engagement, particularly for women in the workforce.
