This bill requires public schools serving students in grades 6-12 to provide human growth and development instruction beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Specifically, the instruction must include a high-definition ultrasound video at least three minutes long showing the development of various organs during early fetal development, as well as a computer-generated rendering demonstrating the process of fertilization and human development inside the uterus, highlighting significant markers of cell and organ growth throughout pregnancy. The instruction must be included in any class discussing human biology, contraception, or sexually transmitted diseases. The requirement applies to both traditional public schools and open-enrollment public charter schools. This legislation aims to provide comprehensive and detailed information about human fetal development to students in middle and high schools, ensuring they receive specific visual and scientific information about the stages of human growth from conception to birth.
