This resolution honors Brother Ronnie Smith, a dedicated Baptist minister and educator who has served his community for several decades. Born in 1946, Smith first felt called to ministry during high school and was licensed and ordained by Baptist churches in Kentucky, beginning his first pastoral role in 1968. Throughout his career, he served as pastor and interim pastor at multiple Baptist churches, including Hurricane Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church, while simultaneously working as a history and Spanish teacher for 45 years at various schools including Woodbury High School and Cumberland College. Smith, who holds multiple academic degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and Lake Charles Bible College, also worked as a homebound teacher in Wilson County from 1973 to 1985, helping ill students maintain their academic progress. The resolution commends Smith for his spiritual leadership, commitment to God, and love for people, recognizing his significant contributions to both religious and educational communities.
