This bill makes several changes to the Wood County Central Hospital District's governance and operations. It increases the number of board directors from six to seven, elected at large. The bill modifies the audit requirements, allowing the board to conduct independent audits as determined necessary, but mandating that audits occur at least every three years (previously an annual requirement). The legislation expands the board's flexibility in selecting a depository, permitting them to choose one or more banks inside or outside the district, removing the previous two-year designation requirement. A new section is added specifying that district funds can only be invested in funds or securities outlined in Chapter 2256 of the Government Code.
