This resolution recognizes the Rensselaer chapter of the FFA (Future Farmers of America), a national youth organization focused on agricultural education, for their achievements and community contributions. The Rensselaer chapter was awarded a National Chapter Award at the 2024 National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, being one of 23 Indiana chapters and 288 chapters nationwide to receive a 2-star Chapter Award. The chapter was specifically recognized for its superior program of activities centered on three pillars: Growing Leaders, Building Communities, and Strengthening Agriculture. Their community service efforts include participating in Wreaths Across America Day, providing meals for farmers during harvest, hosting bingo nights at a local senior living facility, and organizing a teacher appreciation luncheon. The chapter is also actively involved in agricultural advocacy, participating in events like Ag Advocacy Day at the Statehouse, Little Hands on the Farm at the Indiana State Fair, and hosting educational activities for elementary students. Additionally, the chapter offers a $1,500 scholarship to qualifying senior members. The Indiana House of Representatives formally acknowledges the Rensselaer FFA chapter's outstanding performance and community involvement, and directs the Principal Clerk to transmit copies of the resolution to State Representative Kendell Culp for distribution.
