This bill amends the existing legislation for the Charleston County Airport District by renaming it to the Charleston County Regional Airport District and renaming the Charleston County Aviation Authority to the Charleston County Regional Aviation Authority. The bill maintains the existing structure of the aviation authority, which will continue to be a political subdivision of South Carolina, composed of seven members. These members include two appointments by the Governor recommended by the Charleston County House Delegation, two appointments by the Governor recommended by Charleston County Senators, one appointment by the Governor recommended jointly by the City and County Councils, and two ex officio members (the Mayor of Charleston and the Charleston County Council Chairman).
