This resolution mourns the death of Charles Thomas Weldy II, a Peoria native who passed away on March 8, 2025, and honors his life and contributions. Born in 1978 to Charles Weldy Sr. and LaVerne Weldy, he was a graduate of Woodruff High School and Western Illinois University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation. Weldy worked for over 15 years at Comcast in Peoria and later for Spectrum Cable in Missouri, and was most recently employed by Vivint Home Security. He was known for his skills as a technician, particularly in car audio systems, and was passionate about karate, music, and collecting Hot Wheels. Described as a kind-hearted, patient individual with a great sense of humor, Weldy was a beloved family member and friend who often served as a counselor and mentor. The resolution, passed by the Illinois Senate, extends condolences to his surviving family members, including his parents, sister, cousins, nieces, nephews, and various family friends, and affirms his memory by presenting a copy of the resolution to his family as an expression of sympathy.
