The bill maintains existing provisions related to organ allocation, such as the ability to exercise medical judgment in determining recipient suitability, allowing individual donor designations, and permitting organ sharing between OPOs in accordance with federal and state standards. The legislation will take effect immediately upon passage, giving patients more flexibility in seeking organ transplants.
