This bill modifies Georgia election law by allowing county election superintendents to permit voters to cast ballots at any precinct within their county during a primary, election, or runoff, subject to specific conditions. The election superintendent must first ensure several safeguards are in place, including preventing duplicate voting, having sufficient ballots and voting equipment at each polling place, and maintaining adequate poll worker staffing. Before implementing this option, the superintendent must make a decision at least 30 days prior to an election and notify the Secretary of State in writing. The superintendent must also publicly announce the decision by posting notices in the election office and polling places, and advertising in the county's legal newspaper for two consecutive weeks. If a county chooses to allow voting at any precinct for a primary or election, this option will also apply to any subsequent runoff. The State Election Board is authorized to develop rules and regulations to implement these new provisions, which aim to provide voters with more flexibility in choosing their polling location while maintaining election integrity.
