This resolution honors Coach Johnny Morgan, who is retiring after a remarkable 47-year career coaching girls' basketball at Central High School in McMinn County, Tennessee. Throughout his tenure, Morgan achieved extraordinary success, including winning 1,107 games and becoming only the third girls' basketball coach in Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA) history to reach 1,000 victories. His coaching accomplishments include leading the Chargerettes to their first state championship in 2011, seventeen state tournament appearances, twenty-two district tournament championships, and twenty-two region tournament championships. Morgan was inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2012 and is widely recognized for his leadership and tactical skills in developing young women athletes.
