This bill establishes temporary restrictions on the issuance of alcoholic beverage permits within District 3 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. Specifically, from August 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, no new permits for alcohol sales will be granted in this district for Class B or Class C premises with less than 5,000 square feet of public habitable floor area. Existing valid permits as of August 1, 2025, may be renewed if the permit holder remains compliant with all laws and local ordinances. However, permit holders will not be allowed to obtain additional permits for new locations within District 3 during this period. If a current permit holder stops doing business or fails to maintain a valid permit for any reason, they will lose their right to renew the permit.
