This bill establishes a Commission on Government Efficiency and Waste Prevention, which will consist of 14 members appointed from various legislative leadership groups, including two members each from the governor's office, house and senate majority and minority leaders, and one elected official from each legislative caucus. Each year, the commission will submit proposals for government streamlining or cost savings to legislative caucus leaders, and by December 1st of each year starting in 2026, they must submit a comprehensive report to the governor and legislative committee chairs detailing their activities, documenting any identified waste or fraud in state government, and offering recommendations for technological advancements to improve management practices and public services.
