This resolution pays tribute to the life of Deubrella Burt Horton, a 90-year-old woman from Jack County, Texas who passed away on March 10, 2025. Born on October 15, 1934, in the Squaw Mountain community, she was the daughter of Shell and Sarah Burt and grew up with three siblings. In 1955, she married George Horton and they had three sons: Harold, Dudley, and Greg. Throughout her professional career, she worked as an administrative professional, serving as a secretary at the Spiller Abstract Company, Spiller & Spiller law firm, and ultimately retiring as a secretary for the Jack County judge in 2005. A dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro, she was known for her cooking, gardening, and love of flowers. The resolution specifically honors her memory by extending sincere sympathy to her sons and their wives, her four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her sister Oleta Burt Thompson, and other relatives and friends. The Texas House of Representatives unanimously adopted this resolution on May 23, 2025, and ordered an official copy to be prepared for her family, adjourning in her memory.
