This resolution pays tribute to the memory of Susana Imelda Alemán, a distinguished educator, administrator, and community member from Austin, Texas, who passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Edinburg in 1954, Alemán was the daughter of Élida Wilson Alemán and Manuel Alemán, and graduated as valedictorian from Falfurrias High School in 1972. She pursued higher education at The University of Texas at Austin, earning a bachelor's degree magna cum laude and later a master's degree in curriculum and instruction, and subsequently a juris doctor from the UT School of Law. For 22 years, she served as the assistant dean of student affairs at the UT School of Law, was a passionate supporter of UT sports, and an active member of Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church. The resolution highlights her kindness, generosity, and positive outlook, and extends sincere condolences to her family, including her sister Yolanda Wilson Alemán, her husband Christopher Nickel Guinn, her niece Lisa Mónica González-Lyons, her grandnieces Brianna Alicia White and Isabella Victoria Zu-Bolton, and her many friends. The resolution also requests that an official copy be prepared for her family and that the Texas House of Representatives adjourn in her memory.
