This resolution congratulates South Knox Elementary School for being named a 2024 National ESEA Distinguished School, a prestigious recognition by the United States Department of Education. The National ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) Distinguished School program, established in 1996, honors public schools that demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, such as exceptional student performance, closing achievement gaps between student groups, or excellence in serving special student populations. South Knox Elementary School was one of only two schools in Tennessee and 100 schools nationwide to receive this award, highlighting its exceptional educational environment and commitment to academic excellence.
