This resolution pays tribute to Helen Asimakis Yampanis, a long-time Neiman Marcus employee and active member of the Dallas community who passed away on June 5, 2024, at age 98. Born in South Dallas to Stella and Charles Asimakis, she was part of a large family and married Paul Yampanis in 1954, with whom she had a daughter named Tina and an adoptive son, Don Bubba Burris. Throughout her life, Yampanis was deeply involved in her Greek Orthodox community, serving in organizations like the Daughters of Penelope and the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, and playing a key role in organizing the Greek Pastry Sale Luncheon & Fashion Show. She worked at Neiman Marcus for 58 years, was an active member of Richardson Republican Women, and was known for her warmth, kindness, and culinary skills. The Texas House of Representatives formally acknowledges her life's contributions, extends condolences to her family and friends, and will prepare an official copy of the resolution in her memory, symbolically adjourning in her honor.
