This resolution recognizes the 50th anniversary of Frog Follies, an annual street rod event in Evansville, Indiana, which originated in 1975 when the E'ville Iron Street Rods, Ltd. club first organized a one-day car show. The event, initially named Der E'ville Iron Street Rod Fest, was renamed Frog Follies after a bullfrog jumping contest and has since grown to become the largest pre-1949 independent street rod event in the nation, attracting approximately 3,000 registered street rods. Over its history, the event has made significant community contributions, including donating more than $2 million to local charities and receiving the Mayor's Award for supporting individuals with disabilities. The club has also provided scholarships to high school graduates pursuing automotive careers. The resolution specifically acknowledges the upcoming 50th anniversary celebration, which will take place from August 22 to August 24, 2025, and directs the Principal Clerk of the House of Representatives to transmit copies of the resolution to State Representative Wendy McNamara for distribution.
