This resolution commends Kendall Rae Johnson, a remarkable nine-year-old urban farmer from Atlanta, Georgia, who has achieved significant milestones in agriculture and youth entrepreneurship. Inspired by her late great-grandmother, Johnson began farming at age three and has since developed a flourishing urban farming initiative, growing various vegetables and establishing the Kendall Rae's Green Heart Non-Profit Organization, which has supported over 400 students and 54 youth entrepreneurs. As the first United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Urban Agriculture Youth Ambassador, she will participate in the 1890 Land-Grant University Tour to promote agricultural opportunities, financial literacy, and career pathways, particularly at historically Black colleges and universities. Johnson has also authored a children's book called "I'm Growing Places" and launched a tomato sauce cooking brand, using her platform to encourage young people to engage in farming, entrepreneurship, and healthy eating. The resolution recognizes her groundbreaking contributions to agriculture, youth development, and entrepreneurship, and directs the House Clerk to provide her with an official copy of the resolution.
