Her extensive community involvement includes volunteering with the Coosa Valley Fair Association, serving on the Senior Promotions Council, participating in the Pilot Club of Rome, and working with pageant organizations like Miss Georgia. Whitten has received multiple honors, including being named Volunteer of the Year and receiving the Dr. Thomas F. Frist Humanitarian Award, and she has been so impactful that the Exchange Club Georgia District's annual Volunteer Award is now named in her honor.
