This concurrent resolution celebrates Columbus Youth Hockey, Inc. (CYH) on its 50th anniversary and recognizes the Columbus Icemen's impressive achievement in winning the 2025 Indiana State High School Hockey Association (ISHSHA) Class 2A state championship. The resolution highlights CYH's growth since 1974, noting that nearly 150 youth now participate in the organization, which fields seven travel teams for players aged five to fifteen. The Icemen's championship victory was particularly remarkable, as they defeated Lake Central Blue 7-1, shut out Bloomington 4-0 and Westfield 5-0, and ultimately defeated the Adams Eagles 4-2 in the final match. This marked the Icemen's seventh state championship, their second in the last five years, and their third state championship appearance in recent seasons. The Indiana General Assembly officially recognizes CYH's contributions to youth development through ice hockey, praising the organization for creating a fun and challenging environment that promotes sportsmanship and teamwork.
