This bill makes a technical correction to Section 2527 of Title 16 of the Delaware Code related to the Uniform Health-Care Decisions Act by removing the word "other" from a provision about how advance health-care directives should be interpreted. Specifically, the bill modifies the language to state that an advance health-care directive created before, on, or after September 30, 2025, must be interpreted in accordance with the law of Delaware at the time the directive is implemented, excluding the state's choice-of-law rules. The Uniform Law Commission identified the word "other" as an erroneous addition to the original model act, and this bill simply removes that word to align the Delaware code with the intended language. The bill will take effect on September 30, 2025, which matches the effective date of the referenced section of the law.
