This Joint Memorial respectfully requests that the United States Department of State initiate an independent investigation, led by the United States, into the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a U.S. citizen who was fatally shot by an Israeli military sniper in the West Bank while observing the displacement of Palestinians. The memorial highlights Eygi's lifelong dedication to human rights, peace, and environmental activism, drawing parallels to the case of Rachel Corrie, another Washingtonian activist killed in Gaza, whose family also sought justice and accountability. The primary goal is to ensure justice and accountability for Eygi and other U.S. citizens who may be wrongfully killed abroad by foreign governments. Copies of this memorial are to be sent to various high-ranking U.S. government officials, including the President, Secretary of State, and members of Congress from Washington State.
