This bill repeals several inactive state accounts and funds, meaning it will close them down and stop their operations. Specifically, it eliminates the home ownership assistance fund, the operating loss reserve account, the public access fund, the Southeast energy fund, the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act reimbursement fund, and several foreclosure expense accounts associated with revolving loan funds for child care facilities, tourism, residential energy conservation, and historical districts. Additionally, it repeals the Alaska temporary assistance program emergency account and the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games reserve fund. The Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) was a program designed to encourage the development of a natural gas pipeline in Alaska, and its associated reimbursement fund is now being closed. The bill also repeals specific sections of existing Alaska law (AS 38.05.874 and AS 47.27.075) and a chapter from the 1998 legislative session (ch. 16, SLA 1998). These repeals are set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
