Specifically, the bill changes the existing language from a speed limit of twenty-five miles per hour to thirty miles per hour in residential areas or school zones where traffic-calming devices like speed bumps, ribs, or humps can be installed. These speed-control devices can extend across a road or street, can be up to six inches high, and must have sloping sides. The bill requires that warning signs be erected to alert drivers to the presence of these devices.
